"This isn't a bra, this is body armor. This isn't makeup, this is war paint!" - Iliza Schlesinger
When I'm getting glam for the day, I step up to my battle station and make a game plan. Okay, maybe you don't call it a "battle station", maybe you call it "a vanity".....same, same.

Face of the Day - Ease Into Fall
After going to work this past weekend, and realzing that I couldn't wear shorts, it officially hit me - summer is over, and I need to start preparing for fall. While I'm not ready to say goodbye to the warm weather, I can always get excited for fall makeup.
I'm not quite ready to dive head-first into the bold vampy fall makeup, so this my "transitional" look.

Face of the Day: Andreja Pejic Artist Palette
Hello, friends! Today I'm sharing my face of the day, which features my very first MAKE UP FOR EVER palette.
This is my first time trying eyeshadows from MAKE UP FOR EVER. I always swatch them when I'm at Sephora, so I was really excited to try their shadows out.

Fave Purple Products
My favourite beauty trend as of late, and let's be honest ever, has been the purple lip trend. Purple lipstick was the first colour that I was ever complimented on, when wearing a sparkly purple Minnie Mouse lip gloss that I got from Disney World, when I was 10. So I'm glad that this purple trend is back, and I'm hoping that it never goes away.
Here are some of my fave purple makeup products, fresh from my battle station.

It's New To Me! Shopping My Stash
As part of my effort to not share any photos that include my face until my skin clears up (read all about what happened HERE) I've had to get a bit more creative with my posts. It's been tricky, because usually my creative outlet is my makeup, so I've been up a creek with no paddle, as of late.
Sometimes, you have to dive deep into your beauty battle station, and re-discover some of your overlooked babies, that you forgot that you own.

Current Makeup Routine - Dealing with Skin Problems
It's been a little while since I've posted a makeup review, or a face of the day - and there's a reason for that.
Ever since the last week of October, I've had this mystery allergic reaction developing on my face. It's been freaking me out, because it was similar to the reaction that I had when I found out that I was allergic to benzyl peroxide. But this time the reaction was constantly changing - super dry one day, moist *ugh, I know we hate that word* the next, patchy, bumpy, UGH! Of course, I want to pile on the colour correcting makeup, but I know that I have to be very sparing with my coverage, as to not anger my skin any further.
I didn't want to completely hide the allergic reaction, because that would require A LOT of makeup, and could have resulted in making the reaction worse. My goal has been to make it look like I'm just trying to cover up a bit of a break-out, and not a create a caked-on, full fledged "my skin is rejecting itself" look.
So here's what I have been using to disguise the red-ness.
Almay Smart Shade Perfect & Correct Primer - My only attempt at balancing out the red-ness. This primer is my one and only, and never lets me down. It applies with a creamy consistency, and although it doesn't make the discolouration in my skin disappear, it gives my skin a great starting point.

What's In My Everyday Makeup Bag?
I'm someone who doesn't like to carry a big heavy purse, so I carry a relatively small bag on the daily. But whenever I'm on my way out, I always grab my little makeup bag that is filled with essentials that I might need to help maintain my makeup for the day.
Here are some travel-friendly products that I have with me at all times.

Hot Off the Presses Part 7
It's that time again! Swatches of three hand-pressed shadows by yours truly.
As I type this, I'm getting pigment all over my keyboard, because I swatched these about 20 minutes ago. This is why we can't have nice things.

Face of the Day - Everyday Sparkle
Today I am sharing my current go-to look. It seems like lately I've had a new go-to look, which I stick to for about a week, then switch it up at the beginning of the next week.
This one features the hands-down best sparkly product I have ever used - it's not too "in-your-face", so it's perfect for an everyday look.
