Remember when nude, mannequin-like concealer-lips were all the rage?

I do, because it was the first lip trend that I hopped on.  I went out and raided the Maybelline nude lipstick collection display at my local Walmart.  Some of the shades that I bought back then don't really work on me anymore, but I think that 'Nude Embrace' still does.

Face of the Day - Pride 2017

Happy Pride, friends!

I originally intended this look to be a rainbow eyeliner look that involved putting a rainbow of eyeshadows over a white base.  However, as the look progressed, I kept adding more and more ideas to it, and it got to the point where it looked like a total mess. So I took it all off, and whipped up this look in about 10 minutes.  Very Jem and the Holograms.

I remember when NYX came out with their first batch of shades from the Liquid Suede collection.  I HAD to get my hands on 'Sandstorm' and 'Soft Spoken'.  They were incredible!  They were smooth, creamy, pigmented, and lasted all day.

So my expectations were at an all time high for their second batch of shades.

Face of the Day - Warm and Rusty

Sometimes you find an eyeshadow palette, and become so obsessed with it, that it's your go-to look for a solid month.

This look was quick (mainly because I didn't do liquid liner), easy, and got all the compliments!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream 'Cairo', 'Los Angeles', 'Brussels' - Review, and Swatches

Every so often you find a lipstick, and look it up online to find some swatches, only to come up with nothing.  That's exactly what happened with these three shades.

During the holidays NYX makes little gift sets, containing three lip products.  Sometimes these products in the set are pieces from the core collection, and sometimes they are only available when bought as a set, which was the case for the three shades in the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream "Set 9" (If I'm not mistaken).  The set was on clearance at Ulta, so I quickly grabbed it.

Beauty blogger problem:  Not being able to play with your new makeup until your photograph it.  So you put it in the "to photograph" box, things pile up on top of it, and next thing you know, you forgot that you owned the makeup in the first place.  Well, that's exactly what happened with this one.

I got the NYX 'Sweet Cheeks' Blush Palette from the NYX After Dark event, after IMATS Toronto (which was in October 2016).

Face of the Day - Staff Meeting Makeup

While I don't wear makeup to my weekend job *gasp*, I had a staff meeting during the week, and figured that I'd use to the opportunity to paint my face.

It wasn't going full-on glam or anything, but when an opportunity to do my makeup arises, I'll take it!

Face of the Day - Trust Issues

I recently became the proud owner of the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in 'Trust Issues'.  I've always been a fan of the colour, but have owned very similar shades (NYX Lip Suede in 'Vintage'), so I held off on owning the ABH one.  Until now, that is.  And after wearing it, I thought to myself "WHYYYYYY did I wait so long?".

Here's the look I sported with the liquid lippie that myself and my friend Laura personally thanked Anastasia Soare for making (at the ABH meet & greet HERE).

NYX Lip Lingirie in 'Embellishment' - Review, Look, and Comparison Swatches

Another liquid lipstick to add to the test pile.  NYX came out with their Lip Lingirie line a little while ago, so I grabbed 'Embellishment' during a trip to Ulta.  Since then it's been sitting in my lipstick storage, whispering "Play with me, Shawna".
