Burberry has landed on Spill the Beauty! Your eyes do not deceive you, I am trying out Burberry for the first time. What better way to welcome the brand to the blog than with their spring highlighters?
Burberry introduces Fresh Glow Highlighter, a luminous buildable strobing powder designed to sculpt the face with light, creating depth and dimension for a refined, natural-looking highlight.
- Infused with ultra-find micropearls for a natural-looking glow, without leaving a heavy metallic finish.
- Comfortable to wear, complexion is illuminated and features defined by sweeping the powder across the face where the light would naturally hit.
The Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighter ($72 CAD) comes in four shades: 'White', 'Nude Gold', 'Pink Pearl', and 'Rose Gold'. I chose 'Pink Pearl', and 'Rose Gold' (the two darker shades - who am I???). It contains 5 g of product, compared to a BECCA highlighter, which contains 8 g of product.
They come in a black velvet-y pouch adorned with the classic Burberry plaid pattern, along with an applicator brush. The compact itself is a reflective silver with the Burberry plaid pattern.
Once you open the compact, you see the mirror, and intricate lace embossing - simply stunning (I'll be honest, this was probably the most emotionally taxing swatching session I've ever experienced - it was pretty tough to destroy that beautiful lace pattern).
'Pink Pearl' (No. 03) is a light iridescent blush pink.
'Rose Gold' (No. 04) is a warm pink that has a golden shift. It isn't as copper as the rose gold that you see in a lot of beauty packaging, these days.

I'm going to be very transparent about the price tag - this highlighter costs a pretty penny. It is a luxury brand, and although I'm a firm believer in saving your money and trying to find a more affordable version by another brand, I'm going to justify the price. While I'm always quick to find faults in high-priced items, which justifies not buying it, Burberry seriously delivered on this one. In addition to the product looking aesthetically pleasing, the product was everything I wanted it to be. It picked up beautifully onto my highlighter brush, and when I applied it to my face, it melted perfectly into my skin, which made for the most natural highlight I've ever worn - it didn't look like powder or sparkles were just sitting on top of my cheeks, it looked like it was just an enhanced version of my skin. It's buildable, so you can achieve a more intense glow, but the finish makes it so that you never get an unnatural metallic look.
This penny pincher will happily swallow her couponing pride and say "Burberry - you absolutely nailed it!". I'm officially a believer.
You can find the Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighters at selected Nordstrom, Hudson's Bay, and Sephora stores, as well as online.
