Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Recovery Mask-In-Oil & Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask - Review, Before & After

I started looking for a face serum to add into my nighttime skincare routine, about a year and a half ago.  Serums were a new concept to me, but what wasn't new was the buzz surrounding Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair.  I had always heard that it was the creme de la creme of face serums.

Now, Estée Lauder is introducing the newest member to the Advanced Night Repair family; The Recovery Mask-In-Oil and the Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask.

The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Recovery Mask-In-Oil ($100 CAD) acts as a “repair lock”, helping seal in the benefits of a nightly repair serum, encouraging vital, natural nighttime skin recovery, while protecting and preparing skin for the day ahead.  It cocoons the skin during its nighttime recovery cycle to help strengthen the skin and support its natural repair, working as a high-performance complement to Estée Lauder’s number one repair serum, Advanced Night Repair.

It is housed in a brown ombré bottle, complete with a medicine dropper applicator, and contains 30 ml of product.  Although it is supposed to be used as the last step of your nighttime skincare routine, to lock everything in, I like to apply it after my eye cream, but before my final moisturizer.  What I like about most about the Mask-In-Oil is how it feels.  It feels light, and not at all greasy or sticky.  When I wake up in the morning, my face feels great - not too dry and not too oily!

The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask ($15 CAD each or $56 CAD for a pack of 4) is like a face mask, but just for your under eye.

The serum contains ingredients like lady's thistle, coffee seed extract, and chamomile.  It won't clog your pores, is dermatologist tested, and is brightening, firming, and moisturizing.

To get the serum absorbed into the pads, you have to press the liquid, to break the seal.  This one took a bit of elbow grease for me.  I found the best way to do this was to lay the product flat, and push all of the liquid towards the upper right hand corner (at the liquid chamber's highest point), with my whole hand.

It is important to note that there is a clear plastic shield separating the two eye pads (I found out the hard way, when one eye pad seemed stiff, and wouldn't lay flat against my face, and the other seemed soft and malleable).

When wearing the eye mask, at first it felt slightly cooling, then about halfway through, when I tried to feel the mask on my face by wiggling my nose, it felt a bit warming.  After 10 minutes, I removed it, and it didn't pull the skin.  I applied the remaining liquid, and as it dried, I could feel a gentle firming.  The only negative was having to wait for the extra liquid to dry.  After about 20 minutes, it was still a bit sticky, and my skin felt like it had a small, but stiff film laying on top of it.

You can find the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Recovery Mask-In-Oil & Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask at Hudson’s Bay, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Murale, Nordstrom and online at esteelauder.ca.
