GLISS Hair Repair Color Guard - Review

Back in February (on my birthday, actually!) I was introduced to GLISS Hair Repair.

Ever since then I've been testing out their Color Guard collection, and I'm ready to officially share my thoughts.

"Hair is comprised of 80% keratin, a protein that gives hair its structure, strength, and elasticity.  Damaged hair loses keratin, resulting in a severely weakened hair structure.  GLISS formulas contain hair-identical keratin that helps repair the hair from the inside out.

GLISS Hair Repair by Schwarzkopf is the only full product line on the market that specifically addresses hair repair, in addition to other top consumer needs such as colour protection and volume."

GLISS Color Guard ($9.99 CAD each) provides a UVA/UVB filter, and up to 12 weeks of colour protection for coloured, tinted, or highlighted hair, resulting in optimal colour retention and luminence.

I can be a tough critic when it comes to shampoo/conditioners.  While a lot of shampoos smell nice, a lot of the time, they just don't do the job.  Even when hair products aren't marketed as being for colour treated hair, if I'm testing them out, I make sure to find out that they're safe to use.  In most cases they have been, but they just don't hold up the way my beloved John Frieda 'Go Blonder' products do - nothing has held a candle!

But I have to say, the GLISS line is a close second place.  It smells like citrus cotton candy, and doesn't upset my colour-treated hair (which is huge for me).  The shampoo is thin and slightly runny, but it's worth it because it lathers up with ease - so you don't need to use a lot of product.  The conditioner is dense, but like the shampoo, it also spreads out into my hair with ease.  I use the Express Repair right after I shower, as well as an in-between shower booster, to keep my hair conditioned, and smelling nice.

You can find GLISS Hair Repair at CVS, Rite Aid, and Target in the USA, and at Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix store in Canada.
