Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops 2017 Shades in 'Blossom', 'Halo', and 'Rose Gold' - Review, Swatches, and Looks

Last year Cover FX changed the highlighting game with the original release of their Custom Enhancer Drops.  They released four illuminators, and two bronzers.

Join me in welcoming the three newest illuminating shades to the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops family!

Two of the shades are a Custom Enhancing Drops version of already existing shades.  'Blossom' and 'Rose Gold' first came on the scene in stick form (Review of 'Blossom' HERE), in 2016.  The shade 'Halo' is brand-spankin' new, and boy does it pack a punch.  'Halo' is probably the one that I'm most excited for, because it embraces the holographic trend.  I've been on the holo train for years, as it has been big in the nail polish community, since about 2012, when Color Club released their 'Halo Hues' nail polish collection.  I was hooked!

The bottles contain 15 mL of product, and come with a medicine dropper applicator.

Normally I'd show the product on the face first, then I'd show arm swatches, but because these highlighting drops are multi-dimentional, I wanted to start with swatches, in different lighting situations.

And just to fully understand that stunner that 'Halo' is, here's a quick little video of the shift, in natural lighting.

For the purposes of this post, I applied a matte foundation, concealer, a matte bronzer, and no blush (to really show off the colour of each highlighter).  I applied the Drops with a damp Beauty Blender, for a more diffused look, then went back in, dabbing the product onto my face with my finger, for a more targeted glow.

'Blossom' is a gorgeous soft pearlescent pink, with warm gold flecks - it's the most wearable of the bunch for my fair skintone.

'Halo' is a holographic icy blue that leans purple.  It's not a traditional holographic effect like a linear holo nail polish (with a rainbow-y prism), but because of the absolutely gorgeous iridescent colour shift, depending on the type of lighting, I'd still consider it holographic, just not traditionally holographic, by nail polish standards.  Because it is blue, it's important to not pull this highlighter too closely under your eye (towards your nose), as it could potentially look like bruising.  I'm definitely guilty of that in the photo below, so I'll have to focus it more around the outer corner of my eye in the future.

'Rose Gold' is a peachy penny pink, which would look beautiful on warmer skintones.  Without blush it seemed a tad bit dark on me, but it would pair beautifully with a blush (which is how I intend to wear it in the future).

I am so sold on these Drops.  While 'Blossom' and 'Rose Gold' are absolutely gorgeous, the real star of this show is, without a doubt, 'Halo'.  There is nothing like it on the market, and I'm kind of obsessed with it.  And I'm not the only one.  The amount of compliments I got when wearing this for one night were nuts.  I had friends asking me what I was wearing, and people I had never met yelling across the room to tell me how much they liked my highlight.  Compliments like:

"I LOVE your highlight!"
"I see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Like I just got to heaven."
"What highlight are you wearing?"
"I have never felt so strongly about a product until I saw it on your face.  Buying this ASAP."

In addition to the compliments, you also aren't limited in the ways in which you can wear the Drops.  There are a bunch of ways to wear them, like mixing it in with your primer, for an all-over, lit-from-within glow.  In about a week and a half, I'll be showing you even more ways to wear the Cover FX Enhancer Drops!

If you are a fan of makeup, and all things glow, I would definitely recommend checking out the Cover FX Enhancer Drops.

The Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops ($42 USD/$52 CAD) officially launched on March 3, 2017, and are available at Sephora, and online.
