4 or More Makeup Tag

After watching a "4 or More Makeup Tag" video from one of my all-time favourite youtubers, Beauty Broadcast with Emily Noel, she tagged me and her other makeup blogger/vlogger viewers to do their own video/post.  Seeing how I do everything Emily tells me to (seriously, my makeup stash has grown exponentially, since watching her videos), I had to do my own post.

This one if pretty self-explanatory.  You go through your makeup stash, and find beauty items that you own 4 or more of, and share it with your audience.  It's not like I have the biggest makeup collection in the world, in fact, I like to try a bunch of different brands, so I don't have a lot of items from the same brand/line, but I thought I'd still share - so here we go!

L'Oreal Paris, Infallible Eyeshadow Singles (7)

Revlon, Luxurious Color Eyeshadow Singles (9)

L'Oreal Paris, Color Riche Lipsticks (6)

Revlon Nail Lacquer (70+?)

I haven't actually counted these in a while, I'm afraid to know how many I have :P
To any beauty bloggers/beauty vloggers reading this.....TAG, you're it!  Make sure to comment below and let me know you did your own post :)

Mad For Mint!

Mint mani time!  It was the color of the summer last year, and I'm STILL gaga for mint polish.  Here is a fun mani I did with a drugstore polish, and topped it with an indie polish.

Step 1 - Paint a base of Sally Hansen, Xtreme Wear's "Mint Sorbet".
Step 2 - Top it with a coat of Different Dimension's "My Highlighter Exploded".
Step 3 - Stare at it all day long, because it's beautiful!
Ooooooh, so pretty!  "Mint Sorbet" is definitely my go-to mint polish, and Different Dimension always makes such fun color combinations - I'll definitely be sporting this mani again, in the near future.  Until next time, don't forget to 'treat yo'self' to a mani!

Recreate the Look: Jaclyn Hill's "Rose Sparkle"

When I started this blog, I intended it to be strictly about nail polish.  However, as I continue to interact with other bloggers, and learn more about cosmetics as a whole, the more I have expanded my make-up collection.  So this is my first official 'make-up look' post.  A beauty guru who I have been a fan of, as of late, is Jaclyn Hill - she does great tutorials, she is very well-spoken in her videos, and her make-up looks are immaculate.

I'll be starting a new series, where I try to recreate a youtube beauty guru's look.  Sometimes, I'll be using the same products, and sometimes I'll be using alternatives from my own collection.  The look from the video I am basing the look off of uses a lot of Makeup Geek and MAC cosmetics, which tend to be on the higher end, this post will have more affordable alternatives.  This is not a tutorial series (I will be posting the guru's tutorial video), just the finished look, and the products that I used.

The tutorial video that inspired the look - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI8KL7VOmcI

top: my look, bottom: Jaclyn's look
I wish I could have captured my version a bit better on camera - my looks appears to be much more orange than the original, when in reality, in person, it appeared a bit more red-ish/pink.  Another difference between the 2 looks, is that I do not have false lashes on, which was on purpose, I do not own falsies - I feel like if you're gonna wear falsies, you shouldn't be stingy when picking them out, which is exactly what I tend to be.  Plus I'm sure I'd find a way to screw up applying them - I'd probably glue my eyes shut, or something.

Products used:
Primer - elf essential eyelid primer
Shadow (going in order of application in tutorial)
  1)  "Peach" by Coastal Scents
  2)  "Oatmeal Tan" by Coastal Scents
  3)  "Watermelon" by Coastal Scents
Loose Pigment - "Golden Pink" by Annabelle
Cream Eyeliner - Studio Cream Eyeliner in "Black" by elf
Liquid Liner (put over cream liner, to make it stay) - Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen in "Black
Mascara - Covergirl Waterproof Lashblast in "Black"

Again, this is my first time doing this sort of post, and I know that there is a learning curve to it - I'm still getting used to learning proper lighting techniques, so it'll be a bit of a process - suggestions are always welcome.

Nail Mail - Dove Chocolate Prize

A few months ago Dove Chocolate had a contest on facebook, where you could win an exclusive pair of Dove Chocolate inspired nail polished from Nicole by O.P.I., as well as a coupon for a free chocolate bar.  They were giving away a ton of these prize packages, but because no one found out if they won until the package showed up, I had forgotten about the contest, and just assumed that I didn't win.  But look what came in the mail!

So glad to have these colors in my stash - thanks Dove Chocolate!  Until next time, don't forget to 'treat yo' self' to a mani.
